MediKeeper Releases Industry-First Vaccination Tracking in COVID Navigator Mobile App

Enhanced App De-Risks “Back to Office” and Provides Companies with All Documentation and Reporting to Comply with Current COVID-19 Regulations, Offering an Important Workplace Safety Audit Trail

SAN DIEGO, April 7, 2021 – MediKeeper, a leading workplace wellness technology company, today released a major upgrade to its COVID Navigator mobile app that enables employers to digitally identify and track which employees are vaccinated. Employees simply use their mobile device to show a “Vaccinated” badge when arriving at work. Once inputted, a report is sent to the employer to show an individual’s vaccination status.

“MediKeeper’s COVID Navigator reduces the administrative burden of reporting and follow-up and makes it easier for HR to manage the vaccination, screening, tracking, documentation and reporting of cleared and not cleared employees,” said David Ashworth, CEO of MediKeeper. “It’s a quick and easy way for employees to submit their vaccination status and for HR administrators to be notified when an employee has been cleared or enters vaccine information.”

First released in December 2020, the COVID Navigator is integrated with a case management solution to enable companies to fully support their employees, regardless of their vaccination status. As with all of MediKeeper’s technology, the app is both HIPAA compliant and HiTrust certified in order to protect privacy and security. COVID Navigator is available for companies to access today from the Apple Store or Google Play.

HR administrators at EmblemHealth see the app’s new vaccination feature as a significant step forward to creating a safe work environment for returning workers. “We’ve already unveiled the COVID Navigator App to thousands of our employees and we’re excited to see the new capability for employees to show us they have received their COVID vaccines and are ready to safely return to the office,” said Tom MacMillan, SVP and Chief Information Officer of EmblemHealth.

As the number of people vaccinated for COVID-19 increases, businesses are working on their return to office plans. But this planning can be fraught with uncertainty, especially since OSHA holds employers responsible for determining if an employee can return to work without posing a risk to others, Company leaders are grappling with whether they need to employ safety standards like plexiglass partitions and socially distanced workspaces, once employees are back in the office. Many employers want to pursue a hybrid approach, with non-vaccinated employees working remotely and vaccinated workers returning to the office, but are struggling to keep up with changing guidelines.

The COVID Navigator app gives employers all of the documentation and reporting tools needed to comply with the latest COVID-19 regulations and best practices. If a company is audited at a later date, the COVID Navigator application data will provide valuable insight into the organization’s risk mitigation efforts.
